This is my fifth time around the block, though with these two steering the ship it may well be my last! Nah they’re not all that bad…. they get there in the end. I’ve just got to show them who’s boss, and I think they’re beginning to listen.
For one, I’m older. Two, I’ve done this before. And three, I like to take my time and do it my way.
Still, even though I’ve been down this road before (sometimes numerous times), I’m seeing new things, taking on new challenges and remembering some roads that I swore I’d never go down again…
The young’uns are keeping me occupied throughout the day and the night. I’m more than their van – I’m a home, a studio, an office (and a damn comfortable one at that).
I’ll admit, sometimes it can be a little awkward. The other night the two of them had a little blow, and well, let’s just say our little three-by-two metre home became very small very quickly! Let’s hope that doesn’t happen to often because I don’t think I could handle that kind of tension again. Not good for my suspension, weighs me down a bit.
But most of the time they travel smart, keep things light. That’s the way I roll: not too much weight, not too much wind resistance and I just bounce along the highway very nicely indeed.
They even treat me to a bit of a wash and vacuum sometimes, gets the dust out of all the nooks and crannies. And I might add, this Old Girl has still got it. Been turning a few heads, if you know what I mean 😉
So far we’ve travelled up the coast, cruising inland to take on all the high peaks Australia has to offer (ha, you call that a mountain!). Going by their conversations (and sheesh can they talk!) sounds like we’ll be heading north for a few more weeks yet, and then we’re turning left! Yep inland across the dessert. Hmmm I wounder if they know what they’re letting themselves in for?
Anyway gotta dash, thay are stirring from their slumber and are about to begin another day.
